This month’s visionary was the inspirational Dr. Jayanath Abeywickrama (“Dr. Abey”). He is head physician at an esteemed medical center in his native Sri Lanka where he serves an A-list of international clientele, works with heads of state, and is called upon to teach his methods to medical doctors worldwide. He has been credited with restoring his country’s devastated farming industry by providing self-sustaining tools and resources that empower local farmers to create their own success. It is through education and hard work — by giving farmers valuable tools for self-sustainability, rather than giving them handouts — that Dr. Abey’s project has brought agriculture and pride back to the farmers of Sri Lanka.
