When Greg was only nineteen, he made his first real estate investment: he bought three houses on a half-acre lot, living in one and renting the other two.  After learning the value of a smart investment strategy, he partnered to build several commercial buildings from the ground up, which he still owns and manages today.  Over the last 10 years, Greg has raised $123 million and has profitably bought and sold 1,150 single-family residences in 22 states.  He is co-manager for four alternative investment options: Secured Portfolio, which gives investors all the benefits of owning real estate in their portfolio without the landlord hassles, the Buy and Hold Fund, which purchases residential real estate in select U.S. neighborhoods chosen for long-term stability and profitability, ROI Strategies, which owns homes in the single-family market with a rent to own model, and Sentinel, which purchases re-performing mortgages on single-family homes.  He is the co-owner of the operational companies Hughes Private Capital and Advanced Commission.  A real estate and investment author and finance strategist, Greg has been a regular guest on Nevada Real Estate Radio, Money Watch Channel 2 News with Kristin Remington, The Blend in Las Vegas, and a speaker at the Small Balance Real Estate Summits.  He is also a Trusted Advisor for Freedom Founders, which helps medical professionals invest in real estate to achieve financial freedom.  Greg was born and raised in Reno, where he lives with his wife, Tanja, of 30 years.  They have four children – Kayla, 28, Hayden, 26, Tate, 23, and Dexter, 22.  He enjoys golf, tennis, pickleball, and snow skiing.

Jim is primarily responsible for investor relations and business development at Hughes Private Capital.  He has more than 10 years of experience in the real estate industry and has directly worked on over $1 billion in deal volume across a variety of property types and markets around the world.  Prior to Hughes Private Capital, Jim worked on acquisitions, development, and asset management in the multifamily space for Equity Residential in Seattle, WA.  Prior to that, he spent time  underwriting acquisitions and value-add execution across a variety of property types for Everest Holdings in Scottsdale, AZ.  Jim started his career working on international transactions for Colliers International in Santiago, Chile.  Jim graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a degree in Real Estate Finance.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, reading, and playing the piano.

Born and raised in Alaska, Katie relocated to Reno in 2012.  Since then, she has been gathering experience supporting CEOs, managers, and teams.  Her innate capacity for organization, and her love for strong and consistent communication, led Katie to Hughes Private Capital, where she uses these skills to assist the Investor Relations Team so they can do what they do best: serve our investors.  Katie is excited to be part of such an innovative and rapidly growing business that still maintains such a deep family feel.  When Katie isn’t in the office, you can find her exploring more of the Reno area with her dog or spending time with her best friends and their kids.

Kayla has been her father’s coworker as far back as she can remember.  She is the visionary behind the marketing strategy for Hughes Capital’s multiple investment funds and operating businesses.  She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Nevada, Reno.  Traveling is one of Kayla’s passions because of the challenges and new perspectives it brings her.  She completed a year-long cultural exchange in Germany, backpacked through ten countries in Europe for four months, got her diving certification in Thailand, and recently enjoyed the beauty of Croatia and the British Virgin Islands.  Kayla also enjoys playing volleyball and wallyball, fostering kittens, nurturing all things that are green, and reads voraciously (especially if it was written by Ayn Rand).

Steve spent over 25 years in the wireless industry which began in the US Air Force in beautiful Alaska.  After returning to civilian life, he partnered in a small communications company and grew the business to span 6 western states before successfully selling the company to the major wireless carrier Sprint/Nextel.  Since entering the finance and real estate business, Steve has profitably bought, sold, managed, and financed over $64 million in real estate assets.  Steve is a co-manager for four alternative investment options: Secured Portfolio, which gives investors all the benefits of owning real estate in their portfolio without the landlord hassles, the Buy and Hold Fund, which purchases residential real estate in select U.S. neighborhoods chosen for long-term stability and profitability, ROI Strategies, which owns homes in the single-family market with a rent to own model, and Sentinel, which purchases re-performing mortgages on single-family homes.  Steve, his wife Jill of 35 years, and their two grown children, have called Northern Nevada home for over 29 years.  A passionate archery hunter, hiker, and fly fisherman, Steve’s love of outdoor activities keeps him quite busy. That is fine as he seems to have some of his best ideas out in the middle of nowhere.

By the time Hughes Capital was fortunate enough to scoop Stacy up for the investor relations position, she had accumulated more than fifteen years of experience across various professional industries — each requiring a high level of excellence in areas such as operations, executive client services, corporate account management, project and contract management and negotiation, and event planning.

For six years, Stacy was the San Francisco rep for a global corporate travel management company where she routinely negotiated multi-million dollar contracts and implemented sophisticated online booking tools and expense management systems.  Although San Francisco was her primary territory, Stacy’s client base spanned the globe.

She spent four years in project and contract management working with Microsoft management teams in supervising 40-50 Microsoft contractors hired by vendor companies like Idea Entity and Wimmer Solutions, providers of business and professional services.  She was not only responsible for ensuring that client and vendor deliverables were met, but she also identified and recommended new software development ideas along the way.  As part of her managerial role, Stacy conducted quarterly business reviews, created Statements of Work (SOWs), drove onboarding processes, and managed the internal recruiting team responsible for identifying and hiring new contractors.

Her ties with Microsoft led to her relocate from Redmond, Washington to Reno, Nevada, when Microsoft enlisted her expertise in setting up the infrastructure for Microsoft retail stores.

Having been at Hughes Capital since the inception of the Buy and Hold fund, Stacy is a fountain of knowledge about anything fund-related and has become the in-house expert on helping clients set up self-directed IRAs or 401(k)s so they can use retirement funds to invest.

Stacy worked for Dale Carnegie professional training and is a graduate of all of the Dale Carnegie courses, including Communications, High Impact Presentations, and Sales & Management.  She is a former president of Business Network International (BNI) Northwest, in Bellevue, Washington and is a former board member of NCET (Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology) in Reno, Nevada.

In her spare time, Stacy enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends, and playing golf, where she regularly practices her swing and exercises valuable skills like patience and humor.

Jessica is a long-time member of the Hughes Private Capital team.  In 2013, she was welcomed to the accounting department, not knowing that this team would become more like a family.  She has since witnessed and enjoyed the challenges of change and growth surrounding the company.  After working several years in accounting, which allowed her to gain a deep understanding of the technical side of the investments, Jessica has settled into her new role on the Investor Relations team; she feels right at home building personal relationships with investors.

Jessica is a Reno native, but grew up across many western states.  She eventually attended college in Chico, California, but returned to her roots in Nevada to help operate a family business.  Soon after, she started her own family and developed two new businesses.  It was then that she realized her passion for learning and growth — and all the multi-tasking and problem solving that comes along with it — which plays such a huge role in her position at Hughes Capital today.  When not working alongside some of her favorite people, she spends time with a team of her own: five children from 6 to 24, a son in law, and now one darling grandson — all of which she claims are her greatest accomplishments, by far.

Roxanne Spring, General Manager

As General Manager for Hughes Private Capital, Roxanne Spring leads our operations with oversight across all business divisions.  She is an accomplished business leader that thrives in building highly effective teams that strengthen and expand businesses.  Roxanne brings demonstrated success in driving strategic optimization of business processes in order to successfully scale our unprecedented business growth.  Her business acumen is well paired with her accessible and inspirational leadership style, allowing those around her to become their best selves.

Roxanne brings a diverse professional background that translates nicely to the Hughes Private Capital business.  She spent the majority of her career in progressive global operational leadership roles within Microsoft as the Director of Business Operations, Director of Online Advertising Operations, and Senior Xbox Group Manager.  In addition, she was an active member of the Worldwide Software Manufacturing and Fulfillment Council within Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices organization.  Prior to Microsoft, she worked for International Gaming Technology holding a variety of roles including Firmware Engineer and Compliance Manager. Roxanne also worked within the aerospace industry as the Director of Business Processes and Director of Enterprise Health at Click Bond, Inc. ― where she was responsible for managing the company’s strategic risk, continuous improvement, corporate compliance, and the MIS and Project Management departments.  Roxanne’s passion for leading, growing, and motivating led her to the University of Nevada, College of Business where she taught Marketing.  Roxanne also owned and operated a successful consulting business.

Roxanne is extremely proud to be a native Nevadan and is very active in her community; she’s a current board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada and was honored to be the 2018 Board President.  Roxanne was also a former member of the Board of Trustees for The Children’s Cabinet.  Roxanne is a University of Nevada alumnus with a Master’s degree in Business Administration and General Studies Bachelor’s degree with a minor in Computer Science.

Roxanne spends her free time with her three grown children, grandkids, and many wonderful friends.  With them, she enjoys Reno’s beautiful four seasons through activities such as golfing, camping, boating, snowboarding, snow skiing and off-road motorcycling.
